It will be a sight to watch as Sunil Chhetri takes on Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic. Early this week Manchester United announced their pre-season plans. The Red Devils will tour United States and Canada for their pre-season preparations. As part of that programme Sir Alex’s men are scheduled to play Kansas City Wizards on 25th July at the inauguration of their New Arrowhead Stadium. If things go to plan, Wizards newly arrived Indian striker may well take part in the game against United.

Speaking to the Wizards’ official website, President and CEO of OnGoal venture, Robb Heineman said, “This will be one of the biggest sporting events the Midwest has ever seen, and it's a great opportunity for Kansas City to show that we deserve to be one of the host cities for the World Cup.”

“When OnGoal purchased the Wizards we anticipated bringing high-profile teams like Manchester United to Kansas City, and with our new stadium opening in 2011, our fans can expect more games of this caliber in the future. We are incredibly excited to be able to partner with the Hunt family to bring this massive event to our city.”
Speaking on the forthcoming trip, Sir Alex Ferguson said, “It’s great to be going back to North America,” “I enjoyed the last two tours there in 2003 and 2004 immensely. The quality of the facilities is outstanding and there is real enthusiasm in the crowds. It’s especially pleasing to be going in a World Cup year, when interest in football will be at its height.”

The Wizards will be the third opponents for the Old Trafford club as the start their 2010 on July 16 against Glasgow Celtic in Toronto. All Indians and Manchester United fans will mark July 25th as a red-letter day.
