Indian International Gouramangi Moirangthem began his much awaited trials with Melbourne Heart FC today when he took the field with the rest of the Heart players.
The team trained for a total of 90 minutes, during which time Gouramangi did enough to grab the attention of the teams coaches with a fine performance on the field.
"He did pretty well considering it was just his first day. He showed good anticipation, made some precision crosses and was good in the tackle. He certainly seems to have some good qualities in him and is a quick learner. We shall monitor him more closely over the next week and see how things go" said Melbourne Heart FC coach John van't Schip when questioned on his first impressions.
"It was great to train with the team today. The training sessions are held at a much vigorous pace over here then back home, but in all, I am content with my performance. I know I can do better, and I will do that in the coming days as my body adjusts to the cold climate" said Gouramangi shortly after finishing his first session with the team.
Gouramangi will be leaving with the team on Monday on a short tour of Gold Coast where the team will have a few practice sessions besides also playing A-League side Brisbane Roar in a friendly match in which Gouramangi is expected to play a part in.
