The man known as “El Niño” is the most feared striker in the world; Fernando Torres will be the front man for the tournament favourites- Spain. The top scorer in the qualifying programme leading up to the World Cup in 2006, Torres made his World Cup debut in Germany. He finished as Spain’s top goal scorer alongside strike partner Villa with 3 goals as La Furia Roja bowed out in the quarter-finals. He also scored the winner for the European Champions in the final of Euro 2008. Liverpool’s much wanted striker is fast, tricky and a deadly finisher with both head and feet. His ability to cause mayhem inside the box with his burst of pace will keep defenders on their toes in South Africa. With Spain granted one of the easier groups alongside Chile, Honduras and Switzerland qualification to the next stage should be achieved without any problems. However, Torres will be one of the many match-winners; Vicente Del Bosque will have at his disposal during the knock-out stages.
