Peter Mokaba Stadium

The Peter Mokaba Stadium is located in Polokwane (previously known as Pietersburg). It’s the first world class football venue in this football crazy province and has been named after one of the former leaders of the ANC Youth League, which was involved in the struggle against the apartheid regime. It is one of the five new stadiums that have been built for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The original plan was to upgrade the already existing stadium but were soon abandoned to create a brand new structure which with a much higher capacity.
