Lotus Versfeld Stadium

Situated in Pretoria, the Lotus Versfeld Stadium is one of the oldest stadiums in South Africa, having played host to sporting events since 1903.The first concrete structure was built at the venue in 1923 with a capacity of 2000 spectators but it has undergone perennial upgrades since and currently has a seating capacity of nearly 52,000. To qualify as a first and second round venue for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, floodlights, sound systems and scoreboards were upgraded and designated media areas were constructed.
