The Ellis Park Stadium which is also known as the Coca-Cola Park is one of the major Footballing venues of the country. The stadium was the country’s most modernized venues with a capacity of 60,000 in 1982 and has hosted some high profile events in the past, including the 1995 Rugby World Cup final. It underwent major renovations to fulfill FIFA’s requirements of a semi-final match venue and new stands were added to both ends of the ground, increasing the capacity by another 10,000.
